It may help to know that she became seriously involved with fitness and sport at the age of 12, when she started competing nationally and internationally on an Equestrian Vaulting Team. With a sport involving gymnastics, acrobatics, and dance (all on a cantering horse), cross-training was essential to exceed at the high level.

Cross-training- including yoga, weight training, pilates, and judo not only made her a better vaulter (top 10 in the U.S.A.), but makes her a dynamic and adaptive personal trainer as well.

With a 4 year background in coaching adults and children, she excels in paying attention to fine detail, safety, and getting you motivated!

Her training priority is to get you to your physical peak- designing your workout to fit your body, personality, and goals, so you can walk out the gym feeling like a new you!

Christian is a native San Franciscan and has been working in the health and fitness industry for the past 10 years as a Personal Trainer & taught Group Exercise classes. He is currently a World Gym Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Christian worked as a Physical Therapy Aide in the clinical setting at St. Mary's hospital where he received his outpatient rehabilitation.

He recently completed his recreation therapy internship at the San Francisco Veterans Hospital and is preparing for the National Certification exam to be a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

Christian has an inspiring, yet gruesome story to tell. He sustained a traumatic brain injury in 1997 and was initially comatose for 22 days and paralyzed on the left side of his body. The doctors predicted he would never be able to walk, talk, or have any awareness of others.

Despite the poor prognosis, Christian persevered through 6 major and 6 minor surgeries coupled with a rigorous rehabilitation program.
It became apparent that fitness would play a critical role in achieving his optimal wellness.

Christian believes the key components of fitness will nurture personal happiness, assure optimal health, and increase one's longevity.

Matt began an active lifestyle right out the gate when his parents first had him start playing every sport at the age of 5. He quickly excelled at soccer and began playing in competitive leagues year round in both Spain and later in Hawaii. By the age of 14, Matt was one of the top 15 goal scorers for the season. He then represented USA as an ambassador in friendship games in Australia. By the junior year of high school Matt was bit by the workout bug.

Matt loves living an athletic lifestyle. He is actively involved in weight lifting, hiking, skin diving, snowboarding, kayaking, paddling and much more. He is currently working on getting his dietetics degree with an emphasis in sports nutrition, and is also preparing for his first ever bodybuilding show this year.

Matt is a long term, dedicated World Gym team member and we all couldn't be happier to welcome him to the World Gym Training Team. Matt knows the training floor and equipment better than anyone, is always really helpful, and is extremely knowledgeable about how to work hard and get results!

"What do I want, and how am I going to get there?" - When Chris came to World Gym in 2006 he found himself asking that very question, so he began with the Weight Training he remembered from High School Football. He made some progress, but nothing significant.
It was not until Chris started reaching out to the World Gym Trainers that he learned form, tempo, nutrition, and visualizing goals are essential in making progress. After adopting these lessons, Chris gained strength and accomplished an incredible drop in weight - over 30lbs in three months! And after years of being a World Gym and CrossFit regular, Chris was invited to become a trainer.

Training with Chris is geared to be challenging for ANY fitness level, and will help you achieve your individual goals, work hard and make no excuses. Sessions may include:
-Varied Weight Training (Free Weight, Body Weight, Machine Assisted Training)
-Olympic Lifting
-Nutritional Advice
-Setting fitness goals and learning how to achieve them

Chris is a Personal Trainer who knows what it's like to be out of shape. He believes that anyone can change his or her life for the better, and making physical changes is one of the most rewarding ways to do so.

Raised on the North Shore of Oahu, a normal day for Josh would include Surfing, mountain biking, free diving or hiking. Living an active lifestyle since a young age, Josh knew right away the importance of "Living Healthy".

At the age of 17, Josh started weight training. He picked up a job at the local gym and fell in love. The next few years he spent shadowing Master trainers while learning the ropes.

After moving to S.F. in 2007, Josh established himself as a personal trainer. His passion for fitness and living a healthy lifestyle are stronger than ever. He is on fire! Josh specializes in Corrective movement, endurance, strength training and weight loss. Josh prides himself in helping clients succeed and meet their goals.

Eight years ago Karri was introduced to the wide world of fitness thru aerial acrobatics. Being thrilled with seeing how her body composition and confidence transformed she felt compelled to help others do the same. Karri quickly transitioned from a Real Estate Agent to a Full-Time Fitness Instructor to pursue her passion for fitness. Karri owned and operated an aerial fitness studio in Northern Virginia before moving to San Francisco in June 2013.

Karri is thrilled to now be part of the team at World Gym San Francisco. Karri is determined to build the fitness program to where it is one of the leading reasons why people want to join World Gym.... because our classes, instructors and trainers are the best around!

Kelly has been dancing and teaching salsa for the past 5 years. She has been a competitor and performer in several events that have taken her from coast to coast with many taking place here locally. Kelly has also been a teacher in the surrounding Bay Area for many years.

Kelly's TRX classes are intense workouts that focus on strength, proper form, movement patterns, and high intensity. She varies the routines to keep it fun and challenging.

Kelly holds certifications through The National Academy of Sports Medicine, National Exercise & Trainers Association, TRX, and holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Sociology from Stanislaus State University.

A Bay Area native, Michael is living proof that the right fitness program can be not only physically transformative but also life affirming. Yes, he really was that overweight kid in High School. Since discovering that physical training and good nutrition transforms and rejuvenates mind, body and soul, Michael has been on a mission to master the science behind that transformation and share it whenever possible. Don’t worry about approaching Michael in his downtime between clients – he’s happy to answer any and all questions, from rookie to pro.

Michael specializes in core strength and technique, and will build your personalized training program around these fundamental concepts, while ensuring that no work-out session ever feels boring or repetitive. He will also tailor nutritional recommendations geared specifically to your body type and aimed to maximize the potential you are creating through your physical training routine.

On his days off you are likely to find Michael mountain- biking around northern California or, in the winter, snowboarding around Tahoe. And as he always tells his clients, “the only two words you’ll ever need to know are Abercrombie & Fit.”

Growing up in Fort Collins Colorado Sarah was involved in anything that would test her bodies limits. From soccer and hiking to dancing, she enjoyed moving. She instructed 6 years of traditional Japanese jujitsu and found that she loved motivating people to love and defend their bodies. Seeing their individual strength grow in both body and mind encouraged her to pursue personal training and move out to San Francisco to work at World Gym.

Sarah focuses on strength and muscular endurance training and believes anyone can have a strong, healthy body.
